Fashion show time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY! This time I'm'a review the Marc Jacobs Spring RTW line!!! FUNSIES. So I love me some Marc Jacobs,
not so much Marc by Marc Jacobs (I think it's just tacky), but just plain old Marc Jacobs is fabby!!! I love the adds and I love this collection. It's super theatrical and super vintage and super fierce. Harem pants abound. I'm all about all of the ruffles. I love the make up. I love everything. So The inspiration appears to be the play, the King and I. It's very East meets West and had a gorgeous fashion baby. Okay. So maybe its not the most innovative collection, but it's all very now. the proportion of the skirts are very glamorous. The color pallet is perfect for spring. I have no complaints.

Okay, well now for a trend, or rather a look (again). My secret obsession with clothes is goth. I know I know. Anyone who I've ever gone shopping with will be shocked. Casey especially. Here's the thing. I love the dark and dangerous look of someone wearing all black. It's elegant. It's glamorous. It's fabulous. But this Hot Topic lame Edward Cullen t-shirts and ugly hot pink acid washed jeans with cheep studded belts and plastic skull ear rings shit is the dumbest. I believe in doing things right, and there are so many other ways to look amazing in all black. SO here's some looks with completely different feels for you to try out. All of these looks have living color counterparts, but doing them in all black will make you look super chic and takes a lot of the guess work out of them.

This first look is something I like to think of as elegant minimalism. This look is defigned by simplicity. The pieces you choose should not be fussy. Go for interesting textures in lou of patterns. In the above look did choose small feminine details just to take the edge off of it, like the flourish on the shoe, the bow on the gloves and the delecate filigree of the ear rings. Don't do too many of these, as that will take it out of this relm entirely. The above dress is a really great option, as it's practically universally flattering, are most wrap dresses, and the high neck will make you look super super stylish. Keep your make up minimal as well. Maybe just do black winged out eyeliner, and a nude lip. My suggestion for hair would be to pull it back in a tight bun or pony tail, or even just with a head band. Just keep it un-fussy. You don't want to take away from the streamlined polish of this look.

The next look is a tough bad ass rockstar look. This is a perfect way to take what you're trying to do with your Hot Topic garb and grow it up. The key to this look is mixing sexy girly pieces with tough military inspired ones. The juxtaposition of these two counter-vibes will bring visual intrest to your outfit. It's just like that Britney Spears song from Circus, Lace and Leather. I'm super in love with all of the jackets Balmain has been putting out for the past couple of seasons, and this one is one of my favorites. It's super versitile and super super cool. Look for accessories that give a nod to the vintage/classic goth look with skulls bullets and even studs. Hot black jeans are a must. This a perfect look for a night out at the bar, and for those who want to vamp it up, a bad ass corset underneath your jacket is tot's appropriate.

The last look is super super glam vintage star. (my favorite) This look is super layered and defigned by excess. (my other favorite) It's somewhere in between boho and hitchcock. Floor length gown is a must. Find one that's drapy and not too revealing. Then cover yourself in jewelry, too much is just the right amount. Shalls and scarves perfect and don't skimp out with makeup. Really go there. This is the perfect look for events. Going to the theater, or to a show, or just any time when you feel like you deserve all eyes on you. I will warn you that there is the potential for people to think you're a drag queen. If you're okay with that, I'm okay with you.
SO try these looks out!!!!!!! I know my girls, and all of you can take something from this, and make it you.
Heres a couple more jumping off points, if you will.

I'm really into classy goth looks... by zamills featuring Yves Saint Laurent shoes
Well after that, I really think I should take the time to talk to you about something that I'm sure some of you struggle with.
What's better? Romantic? Or Modern? and the answer? Well, knowing my friends, they're all saying Romantic. Well. You're wrong. Sort of. Clearly both of these looks are favored for different reasons. Romantic shows people that you are whimsical and free spirited. Modern shows people that you're very serious and boring. But that's not always true. Look at the outfits above. Are you telling me those shoes that go with the modern outfit aren't screaming personality? And the jacket with the romantic set is pretty no-nonsense. If you watch my dear friends on What Not To Wear, then you know, that the best way is to combine these two apposing pathways in fashion. Wearing a romantic floral shirt with a sleek suit. And that's fair. But I think its much more fun to keep them separate. But don't limit yourself. The best thing to do, is find pieces that are you.Don't be afraid of something that is super modern with clean lines, or super frilly and romantic. Both can be super figure flattering, and both are very very hip. And people will be impressed with you if you can transition from one look to the next without seeming like you're wearing a costume. That's what a fashionista is. So love both sides of the spectrum, and everything in between.
Now for a person who's fashion I love. It's time. As you all may know, I live with a fashion monster. Her name is under some debate, I've always known her as Katie Ray, but upon moving to Arizona she assumed the name Tessa, for a change. Love of my life, Katie Ray of Sunshine, has killer style. Weather she's wearing apple bottoms converse chucks, a leather jacket and hoop ear rings, a t-shirt ball gown that she sewed herself, or a vintage forties dress with kick pleats, she always looks fab. Her signature red lips were super ahead (or behind) of trend, and she's fearless when it comes to clothes. Her approach to clothing can be likened to a little girl playing dress up, in that, she adores the transformative nature of what she wears. Katie Ray is the person who introduced me to the idea of created beauty, which is one of my personal principles of fashion, meaning everyone can be glamorous and gorgeous if they put in the work.
That's my show!!! Thanks for watching!!
